Returning to Zumba

I never really thought that returning to Zumba would be half as emotional as it was. Co-incidentally it’s a year since my first haemorrhage, which took 2016 on a catastrophic trajectory. But as I told the teacher I might have to do low impact because of surgery, I felt the tears start to well.

I’d returned to dancing (trussed-up) after just two months, but didn’t feel I was ready to do an hour of high intensity work-out until now. Half-way through the class I nearly burst into tears when the teacher checked I was ok, and I realised I was. I skip a lot of the jumping sections, but little by little I’m getting there. Was great to be back at Zumba – it feels like it’s another small step towards being back to normal.

Onwards we go …
